Don’t Chase Your Tail When It Comes To Writing Good Blog Posts

Are you constantly looking for ideas when it comes to your blog posts? I know that sometimes it feels like you are going around in circle but don’t come up with anything good.

For me, all my good ideas come at the same time. Then they go away. If I don’t organize my thoughts, then I will never come up with my any good blog post ideas.

Want to lean my secret? I will let you in on it for free.

First, any time I get an idea for a blog post, I write it down. I don’t usually have a pen or paper near me but I do have my phone (well, always almost…as long as I don’t forget it at someone place ;)). I use Google Keep to jot down all my ideas.

If you don’t have Google Keep, then download it to your phone today. It is free and I think most phones these days already have it. It is great because you can access it from anywhere.

I have created separate files in the Google Keep app. One file is for any blog post ideas I have. Another file is for any questions I come up as things are churning in my brain. These will also become future posts but I have to do some research to find the answer first. If I have a question about it, I am sure someone else out there has the same questions. There is no such thing as a dumb question.

So when I sit down to write my blog post, I go through the blog post idea file first. If I feel like writing about any of those topics, then I do. If I don’t feel like writing about any of those topics in my idea file, then I move on to the questions file. I pick a question I like, I do the research to find the answers and I write about what I learned.

There is one more app I use. It is called Evernote. This app allows you to save any webpages you are browsing to view later. I usually save any interesting articles I come across or any inspirational pictures. If I have really down to having no ideas for a blog post or if I don’t feel inspired, then I use the pages and pictures saved in Evernote as my inspiration.

Simple, right? Anyone can do this and never run out of blog post ideas.

Don’t just read my post, take action. If you struggle with coming up with blog post ideas, then don’t just chase your tail like a dog…use the technique I just described. If you have any questions, let me know in the comments below. All the apps I mentioned in this post are free. So make sure that you check them out.

Very helpful Tips Shreya! I’ve lost many ideas for posts that I just didn’t take note of.
